- Anti-Wrinkle Treatments | Jade Alexandra Collective
Anti-wrinkle treatments in Durham at Jade Alexandra Collective, delivering natural-looking results through precise, conservative treatment. ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS Anti-wrinkle Treatments Anti-wrinkle treatments are prescription-only injectable procedures designed to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles responsible for dynamic lines and wrinkles. By reducing repeated muscle contraction, these treatments help soften existing lines and prevent deeper wrinkle formation over time. At Jade Alexandra Collective, anti-wrinkle treatments are carried out following a full consultation, facial assessment, and treatment review. Treatments are conservative, anatomy-led, and tailored to the individual to preserve natural expression while achieving a refreshed appearance. The results of treatment depend on the type of wrinkle being treated. There are two main categories: Static wrinkles, which are visible when the face is at rest Dynamic wrinkles, which appear with facial movement Anti-Wrinkle treatments are most effective at softening or erasing visible dynamic lines caused by muscle activity. Static wrinkles are more deeply ingrained into the skin, and the level of improvement depends on their depth, duration, and overall skin quality. Complete resolution of static lines cannot always be expected. Anti-wrinkle treatments may be used to improve the appearance of: Frown lines between the eyebrows Forehead lines Crow’s feet around the eyes Other areas where excessive muscle activity contributes to visible lines The treatment works by interrupting nerve signals to specific muscles, allowing the overlying skin to relax and smooth. Results develop gradually, typically becoming noticeable within a few days, with full effects seen around 10 to 14 days after treatment. Results are temporary and commonly last several months. Review appointments may be recommended to assess outcomes and maintain results appropriately. Anti-wrinkle treatments are only provided where suitable and following informed consent. A prescriber consultation is required in line with UK regulations. Full aftercare guidance is provided to support safe recovery and optimal outcomes. Price Anti-Wrinkle treatments are available following consultation with a prescriber. Treatment prices start from £110.00. Book Now
- Downsizing | Jade Alexandra Collective
Learn about piercing downsizing at Collective, Durham. Shorter posts fitted after swelling subsides to ensure stability and healthy healing. DOWNSIZING - WHY IT'S IMPORTANT Downsizing refers to switching jewellery in a piercing to a shorter post, once initial swelling has subsided. Because of the way piercings heal, most require initial jewellery with a noticeable amount of extra room to allow the tissue to swell in the early phases of healing. This is crucial to avoid jewellery embedding in the skin. However, once the initial stages have passed, this initial swelling will have gone away. This will reveal the initial extra room and results in the initial jewellery now being too long. Jewellery that is too long can snag easily and move around excessively, leading to irritation and renewed swelling. In oral piercings, excessively long jewellery can lead to damage to teeth, gums, and other oral structures (read more in Oral Piercing Risks ). At this stage, it’s important to return to your piercer to have shorter jewellery installed to reduce these issues. The piercing is not healed enough to safely change your jewellery by yourself at this point in healing. If this window for downsizing is missed for piercings such as the helix, the excessive length may lead to migration or a change of angle of piercing, especially if the piercing gets slept on. This damage is irreversible and can get bad enough to result in the piercing failing. CREDIT - SAFEPIERCING.ORG
- Chemical Peels | Jade Alexandra Collective
Professional chemical peels in Durham at Jade Alexandra Collective, targeting acne, pigmentation, dull skin and signs of ageing with tailored treatment plans. CHEMICAL PEELS Professional Chemical Skin Peels Chemical peels are a controlled exfoliation treatment designed to improve skin texture, tone, and clarity by accelerating the skin’s natural cell turnover process. At Jade Alexandra Collective, we use professional-grade chemical peels. These are medical-grade formulations intended for use by trained practitioners and are selected based on individual skin type, concern, and tolerance. Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of: Acne and congested skin Pigmentation and discolouration Fine lines and signs of ageing Dull, uneven skin tone and texture Chemical peels work by applying a carefully formulated solution to the skin, which promotes exfoliation and stimulates cellular renewal. As older, damaged skin cells are shed, newer, healthier cells rise to the surface. This process can help reduce breakouts, soften fine lines, improve pigmentation irregularities, and enhance overall skin luminosity. Treatment strength and formulation are selected following a full consultation and skin assessment. Peels are suitable for a wide range of skin types, including sensitive skin, when correctly prescribed and applied. For optimal results, skin peels are recommended at regular intervals as part of an ongoing skin maintenance programme, combined with appropriate home care. Full aftercare guidance is provided to support safe healing and maximise results. Price A range of professional chemical peels are available, with prices starting from £50.00. Book Now

- About the owner | Jade Alexandra Collective
Meet Jade, owner of Jade Alexandra Collective in Durham. A UKAPP-educated piercer, jewellery specialist, and aesthetic practitioner rooted in ethical, anatomy-led care. ABOUT THE OWNER Hi, I’m Jade, the practitioner and owner behind Jade Alexandra Collective. My work is led by care, precision, and deep respect for the body. I believe in taking time, doing things properly, and creating a space where people feel safe, listened to, and supported in their choices. I entered the industry in 2010 through an apprenticeship in tattooing, which became my introduction to body modification. While tattooing wasn’t the path I ultimately followed, it led me to body piercing, where I found a practice that blended technical skill, creativity, and meaningful client care. Like many in this industry, my early experiences taught me as much about what was missing as what was possible. Those lessons shaped my values early on and continue to guide how I work today. Education, ethics, and responsibility matter deeply to me, and I believe learning never truly stops. Over the years, I’ve developed my practice through hands-on experience, continued professional training, and attendance at UKAPP educational seminars. My focus has always been on safety, anatomy, quality materials, and supporting the body’s natural healing process. Jade Alexandra Collective was created with intention and heart. I wanted to build something that felt considered and human. Every decision within the studio is guided by those principles. In 2019, I found my professional home at Buzzin Guns, a studio environment that aligns with my values and allows me to work independently while being part of a supportive, like-minded team. Aesthetics, Wellness & Skin Rejuvenation In 2025, I expanded my practice into aesthetic care, completing extensive training in dermal fillers, skin boosters, microneedling, chemical peels, dermaplaning, anatomy and physiology, and emergency management including hyaluronidase and anaphylaxis. My approach to aesthetics is gentle, anatomy-led, and focused on balance and skin health. Treatments are never about changing who you are, but about supporting how you already feel and helping you feel more at ease in your own skin. Adornment, whether through piercing or jewellery, is approached with the same care. Every service is thoughtful, precise, and tailored to the individual. Beyond the Studio Outside of work, I’m someone who values quiet moments, self reflection, learning, and time spent in nature. I have a small army of long-haired Miniature Dachshunds. I occasionally breed and show them, they are one of the greatest sources of joy and meaning in my life. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of my family and friends, who encourage me every step of the way. With Gratitude Thank you for trusting me with your body and your care. It’s something I hold with a great deal of respect, and I’m grateful to share even a small part of your journey. Jade xx About the owner: About

- Prior to appointment | Jade Alexandra Collective
Prepare for your visit to Jade Alexandra Collective, Durham. Read our before-appointment guide covering studio etiquette, preparation, and client care. PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT SOME HELPFUL THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE ATTENDING YOUR APPOINTMENT HAIR If you have long hair, please ensure it is securely tied back before your appointment. This is especially important for facial treatments and piercings, as loose hair can interfere with the procedure and contaminate freshly prepared skin. FOOD & HYDRATION Please ensure you have eaten within the last four hours and are well hydrated before attending your appointment. Low blood sugar can cause light-headedness or fainting during treatments. If you have felt faint during procedures in the past, bringing a small sugary snack is advised. TIMING & HOLIDAYS Consider any upcoming holidays, travel, or events before booking. If your plans may interfere with proper aftercare such as swimming, extended travel, or limited access to cleaning facilities, it may be best to postpone your appointment until afterwards. LIFESTYLE CONSIDERATIONS Your lifestyle can impact healing and treatment outcomes. Before booking, consider whether you: Swim regularly, take part in contact or high-impact sports, wear helmets, face coverings, stethoscopes, or uniforms that apply pressure to the treatment area If any of these apply, we recommend delaying your appointment or booking a consultation first. This allows us to assess anatomy, discuss your lifestyle, and ensure the safest, most appropriate approach before proceeding. STUDIO ETIQUETTE We want every client’s experience to be safe, comfortable, and respectful. To maintain a clean, clinical environment for everyone, please observe the following guidelines while in the studio. At the Desk or Waiting Area Please avoid handling piercings, treated areas, or jewellery, including healed piercings. Touching the ears, face, or jewellery can transfer bacteria to shared surfaces, increasing the risk of contamination for staff and other clients. If you bring previously worn jewellery, ensure it is kept in a sealed bag or container. Used jewellery must never be placed directly on the desk or counter. In the Restroom Please do not handle piercings, jewellery, or treated areas in the restroom. Jewellery insertion or removal must not take place in the restroom or any communal area of the studio. If you would like jewellery changed or checked, this must be carried out by studio staff in the treatment room under appropriate conditions. In the Treatment Room Please switch off your mobile phone on entry. Before placing any personal belongings down, ask your practitioner where they should be stored. Avoid touching fresh piercings or recently treated areas. These are considered open or vulnerable sites, and unnecessary contact increases the risk of infection. Photography, video recording, or camera flashes are not permitted during procedures, as they can distract the practitioner and compromise safety. You are welcome to take photos after your treatment has been completed, with the practitioner’s consent. Please do not photograph staff without prior permission.
- How does my jewellery work? | Jade Alexandra Collective
Learn how body jewellery works at Jade Alexandra Collective, Durham. From threads to hinged rings, discover safe implant-grade jewellery designed to last. How professional body jewellery works. If you’re unfamiliar with the types of body jewelry used in piercings today, it can be a bit confusing. You may be wondering how to remove it, take it apart, or put it back in if it becomes loose or falls out. Modern professional piercing jewellery is quite different from the older “scroll” or “butterfly” backed designs, which can be commonly used. While those styles can still be fine for healed earlobe piercings, they pose significant challenges in fresh piercings or in areas beyond the lobes. The main issue with older styles like the butterfly backing is that they are difficult to keep clean, often collecting dirt and debris in their crevices, which increases the risk of infection. Additionally, the poor surface polish of these designs makes healing more difficult and can lead to prolonged irritation. They also typically come in only one size, which can result in the jewellery being too short, causing it to embed into the tissue and sometimes requiring surgical removal. Given the vast differences in human anatomy, it’s simply not practical to use this outdated style of jewellery for modern piercings. Thankfully, piercing practices have evolved, and today’s jewellery is designed with both size and style flexibility, ensuring it’s easier to clean, more comfortable to wear, and better for healing. Modern body jewellery also features innovative mechanisms for secure attachment, offering a wide range of options that suit various placements and accommodate individual anatomical differences, all while supporting successful healing and long-term wear. Style of jewellery. If you were pierced with us, your piercer should have given you an aftercare leaflet with your jewellery details on it, including the type, length, gauge and mechanism. If you still have this it will be good to take a look for your reference. Body jewellery for piercing is made up of components, which typically include a shaft or post and attachment. The shaft is the part that passes through the piercing, whilst the attachment is typically the decorative part of the jewellery. Attachments are inserted into the shaft or post with either a threading (screwed into) mechanism or held in by tension with a thread-less/push pin ( pushed into) mechanism. Shafts come in numerous styles, such as: Labret - a straight post with a fixed disk and single hole for attachment Barbell - a straight post with holes for attachments on both ends Curved barbell -a curved post with holes for attachments on both ends Circular barbell - an almost fully circular post similar to a ''horseshoe'' with holes for attachments on both ends If your style of jewellery is a ring, it may be hinged, captive/segment or seamless in style. To tighten threaded jewellery, turn the attachment clockwise to screw into the threaded post until it will not turn further any further and has locked into place securely. To remove the attachment, simply unthread it by unscrewing anti-clockwise until the attachment is released from the post. To adjust the tension or remove thread-less jewellery, please watch the video demonstration. See diagrams for reference
