Treatment Aftercare

Following any aesthetic treatment, appropriate aftercare helps support healing, minimise complications and ensure the best possible results.

Anti-Wrinkle
(Botulinum Toxin)

Anti-wrinkle treatments work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles. Following treatment, the product gradually begins binding to nerve receptors within the muscle. Care during the first 24 hours helps ensure the product settles correctly and reduces the risk of unwanted diffusion into nearby muscles.

Most people return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Minor redness, swelling or small injection marks can occur but usually settle quickly.

Immediately After Treatment

• Remain upright for at least 4 hours after treatment
• Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated areas
• Do not massage the area unless specifically advised by your practitioner
• Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 12 hours where possible

First 24 Hours

To minimise the risk of product migration, avoid activities that significantly increase circulation to the face:

• Strenuous exercise or intense physical activity
• Saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
• Alcohol consumption
• Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds
• Facial treatments or facial massage

General Advice

• Avoid lying directly on the treated areas during the first night if possible
• Mild swelling or small bruises may occur and typically settle within a few days
• A mild headache can occasionally occur following treatment and usually resolves within 24 hours

When Will Results Appear?

Results typically begin to develop within 3–5 days, with full results visible at around 10–14 days.

A review appointment may sometimes be recommended at two weeks to assess your result and ensure the treatment has settled as expected.

When to Seek Advice

Although complications are uncommon, please contact the clinic if you experience:

• Increasing swelling or significant discomfort
• Persistent headaches that do not improve
• Drooping of the eyelid or unusual muscle weakness
• Any symptoms that concern you

If you have any questions following treatment, please contact the clinic for advice. Early communication allows us to support you appropriately.

Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore structure, hydration and volume within the skin. Following treatment, the product integrates within the tissue over the coming days. Appropriate aftercare helps minimise swelling and bruising while allowing the filler to settle naturally.

Mild swelling, redness, tenderness or small bruises are common following treatment and typically settle within a few days.

Immediately After Treatment

• Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated area
• Do not massage the area unless specifically advised by your practitioner
• Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 12 hours where possible
• A cool compress may be applied gently if swelling occurs

First 24–48 Hours

To reduce swelling and minimise the risk of complications, avoid:

• Strenuous exercise or intense physical activity
• Alcohol consumption
• Saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
• Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds
• Facial treatments or facial massage

First Few Days

• Mild swelling is normal and may take several days to settle
• Bruising may occur and can take up to 7–10 days to resolve
• Avoid significant pressure on the treated areas where possible
• Sleep on your back the first night if comfortable to do so

When Will Results Be Seen?

You will see an immediate improvement following treatment, however the final result becomes clearer once swelling settles and the filler integrates within the tissue. This usually occurs within 1–2 weeks.

In some cases, additional treatment may be recommended to safely achieve the desired outcome.

When to Seek Urgent Advice

Complications are uncommon, however it is important to contact the clinic immediately if you notice any of the following:

• Increasing pain or unusual discomfort
• Skin becoming pale, blotchy or mottled
• Skin that feels cold or appears dusky in colour
• Blistering or changes in skin colour
• Visual disturbances

Prompt assessment allows early management if required.

If you have any concerns following treatment, please contact the clinic for advice. Early communication ensures we can support you appropriately.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels work by applying a controlled exfoliating solution to the skin to encourage renewal and improve overall skin texture and clarity. Following treatment, the skin may feel tighter, appear slightly red and may begin to gently flake or peel as the surface layers renew.

This process is a normal part of skin regeneration. Appropriate aftercare helps protect the skin barrier while it recovers.

Immediately After Treatment

• Avoid touching or picking at the skin
• Do not apply makeup for at least 12–24 hours unless advised otherwise
• Keep the skin clean and hydrated using gentle products
• Avoid excessive heat or sweating for the remainder of the day

First Few Days

It is normal to experience:

• Mild redness or warmth
• Tightness or dryness
• Light flaking or peeling of the skin

During this time:

• Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser
• Avoid exfoliating products, scrubs or active ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs or BHAs
• Do not pick or pull at peeling skin

Sun Protection

Newly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to sunlight, so sun protection is essential.

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily
• Avoid direct sun exposure where possible
• Do not use sunbeds while the skin is healing

Activities to Avoid for 48 Hours

• Strenuous exercise
• Saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
• Swimming in chlorinated pools
• Facial treatments or additional exfoliation

When Will Results Be Seen?

As the skin renews, you may notice improvements in texture, brightness and overall skin clarity over the following days and weeks.

A course of treatments is often recommended to achieve the best results depending on your skin concerns and treatment plan.

When to Seek Advice

Please contact the clinic if you experience:

• Persistent redness that worsens rather than improves
• Excessive swelling or discomfort
• Signs of infection such as increasing tenderness or unusual discharge

If you have any concerns during the healing process, please contact the clinic for advice. Early communication allows us to guide you appropriately while your skin recovers.

Microneedling
(Collogen Induction Therapy)

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-channels within the skin to stimulate collagen production and support natural skin regeneration. Following treatment, the skin begins a repair process that gradually improves texture, tone and overall skin quality.

It is normal for the skin to appear red, warm or slightly sensitive immediately after treatment, similar to mild sun exposure. These effects usually settle within 24–48 hours.

Immediately After Treatment

• Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area
• Do not apply makeup for at least 12–24 hours
• Keep the skin clean and hydrated with gentle products
• Avoid excessive heat or sweating for the remainder of the day

First 24–48 Hours

During the initial healing phase:

• Mild redness and sensitivity are normal
• The skin may feel tight, dry or slightly rough
• Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser to support the skin barrier

Avoid the following during this period:

• Strenuous exercise
• Saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
• Swimming pools or hot tubs
• Alcohol-based skincare products

Skincare Products

For several days following treatment, avoid active ingredients that may irritate the skin, including:

• Retinoids or retinol products
• Exfoliating acids such as AHAs or BHAs
• Vitamin C serums
• Physical exfoliants or scrubs

These can usually be reintroduced once the skin has fully settled.

Sun Protection

The skin will be more sensitive to sunlight during the healing phase.

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily
• Avoid direct sun exposure where possible
• Do not use sunbeds while the skin is healing

When Will Results Be Seen?

Initial improvements in skin texture and radiance may be visible once the skin has recovered. Collagen production continues over several weeks as the skin remodels.

For optimal results, a course of treatments is often recommended, depending on your skin concerns and treatment plan.

When to Seek Advice

Please contact the clinic if you experience:

• Persistent redness or swelling that worsens rather than improves
• Increasing discomfort or signs of infection
• Any unexpected skin reaction

If you have any concerns following treatment, please contact the clinic for advice so we can guide you appropriately while your skin heals.

Polynucleotides & Skin Boosters

Polynucleotide and skin booster treatments work by improving skin quality, hydration and tissue regeneration within the dermis. Following treatment, the skin begins a gradual process of repair and remodelling. Mild swelling, small bumps at the injection sites and tenderness are common immediately after treatment and usually settle within 24–48 hours.

These treatments are designed to improve skin health and structure over time, so results develop gradually as the skin regenerates.

Immediately After Treatment

• Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area
• Do not massage the area unless specifically advised by your practitioner
• Avoid applying makeup for at least 12 hours
• Keep the skin clean and hydrated with gentle products

First 24–48 Hours

To minimise irritation and swelling, avoid:

• Strenuous exercise or intense physical activity
• Alcohol consumption
• Saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
• Swimming pools or hot tubs
• Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds

First Few Days

• Small bumps at injection points may be visible temporarily and usually settle within 24–48 hours
• Mild swelling or bruising can occur and typically resolves within several days
• Avoid facial treatments or facial massage during this time

Skincare Products

For several days following treatment, avoid products that may irritate the skin, including:

• Retinoids or retinol
• Exfoliating acids such as AHAs or BHAs
• Strong active skincare products

These can usually be reintroduced once the skin has fully settled.

Sun Protection

Protecting the skin is important while it is regenerating.

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure
• Do not use sunbeds during the healing phase

When Will Results Be Seen?

Improvements develop gradually as the skin regenerates and hydration improves. A course of treatments is typically recommended to achieve optimal results.

When to Seek Advice

Please contact the clinic if you experience:

• Increasing swelling or significant discomfort
• Persistent redness that worsens rather than improves
• Any unusual skin reaction

If you have any concerns following treatment, please contact the clinic for advice so we can support you during the healing process.

Vitamin Injections

Vitamin injections deliver essential nutrients directly into the muscle, allowing them to be absorbed efficiently into the bloodstream. Treatments such as Vitamin B12 are commonly used to support energy levels, metabolism and overall wellbeing.

The treatment itself is quick and generally very well tolerated. Mild soreness at the injection site is the most common after-effect and usually settles within a short period of time.

Immediately After Treatment

• Mild tenderness at the injection site is normal
• A small amount of redness or swelling may occur temporarily
• Gentle movement of the arm can help reduce stiffness

First 24 Hours

• Avoid excessive pressure or rubbing at the injection site
• Mild bruising may occasionally develop and typically resolves within a few days
• You may continue normal daily activities immediately after treatment

General Advice

• Keep the injection site clean
• If mild discomfort occurs, a cool compress can be applied to the area
• Maintain good hydration following treatment

Possible Side Effects

Vitamin injections are generally well tolerated, however some people may experience:

• Mild soreness at the injection site
• Temporary redness or swelling
• Small bruises

These effects usually settle quickly without intervention.

When to Seek Advice

Please contact the clinic if you experience:

• Increasing redness, swelling or discomfort at the injection site
• Signs of infection such as warmth or discharge
• Any unexpected reaction following treatment
